Tourism for 30 years

Sjusjøen Hytteutleie was operated from the tollkeeper’s residence at Øvre Rømåsbom in its early years. Each cabin had its own yearly calendar, where all bookings were meticulously recorded by hand. In 2005, the business moved to Sjusjøvegen 1595, where we are located today.

Much has changed in cabin rentals and tourism over the nearly 30 years we have been in business, but the importance of deep knowledge about both Sjusjøen and each individual unit to ensure our guests have a great stay remains just as vital now as it was then.

Since its inception, Sjusjøen Hytteutleie has played a central role in Sjusjøen, not only in terms of cabin rentals but also as a hub for cabin owners and tourists traveling to the mountains. With its location ‘at the foot of the mountain,’ it has become a natural stop for many seeking information and assistance.

We find it very positive that many cabin owners have been renting out through us for 10–15 years, and that guests choose to return time and time again!

Our knowledge of Sjusjøen benefits you as a guest. We know which cabin areas are best suited to each guest’s needs. Whether you prefer certain types of terrain, how experienced you are on skis, and when snow is likely to arrive in various mountain areas are all factors we consider when helping you choose the perfect cabin.

We contribute back to Sjusjøen

As part of the business community at Sjusjøen, we of course make sure to pay the trail fee every year! This fee helps maintain 350 kilometers of well-groomed ski trails during the winter, as well as hiking paths in the summer. By renting a cabin through us, you too are supporting this wonderful effort!
